Three Graces

The Three Graces, painted for the opening of MBTB Shelby Township in 2012

If you live in Metro Detroit, you have probably been to one of the Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room’s three locations in Auburn Hills, Royal Oak or Shelby Township. I’ve been proud to have my art featured there for many years now. It’s an awesome business with awesome owners.

So when co-owner Cortney Casey recently asked me to say a few words about the art that is featured in their three tasting rooms, it was a bit like taking a walk down memory lane. There seemed to be at least one piece from all of my series, or from a specific style I worked in, but no longer do. And a few pieces representing my more current artwork.

I’ve never been satisfied as an artist to stay put. I’m in a continual quest to evolve as an artist and see what can be done with paint, by me. I’m sure their will always be people who resonate with one particular phase of painting — it’s only natural. But for me, I have to keep looking for what’s around the next corner.

Tune into the MBTB Facebook pages this week — Auburn Hills, Royal Oak and Shelby Township — and take a walk down memory lane with me!

Do you have a favorite period in my work? And if so why? Let’s chat about it in the comments or on Facebook or Instagram. I always love hearing from you!
